The South Grove PTA recently brought representatives from the American Automobile Association (AAA) into the school for a special safety awareness assembly. This fast-paced presentation featured Otto the Auto, a remote controlled talking car and Bob the Puppet, who provided lessons on passenger safety in cars, pedestrian safety, current booster seat laws, why they need to sit in the back, and how to behave in the car. Children also learned the basics of parking lot safety, sidewalk safety, and making good decisions about where to play. Older students also learned more independent pedestrian skills. Overall, it was a valuable and fun lesson in safety!
