On Tuesday, May 17, the Robbins Lane Senior Orchestra participated in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Major Organization Evaluation Festival held at Hofstra University. Under the direction of Jeanette Velsmid these young, talented musicians performed three challenging orchestra pieces for two trained and certified NYSSMA adjudicators. In preparation for this festival, students were taught performance techniques including discipline, balance within the ensemble, and interpretation of the works that they performed.
The Robbins Lane Senior Orchestra demonstrated an outstanding level of technical and artistic skill and took home the GOLD rating at this festival! Congratulations to all of these musicians on a fantastic performance!
