Syosset students once again joined their peers from around the world for the International Hour of Code. Classes from every school dedicated time to practicing computer coding in different coding languages based on their level of knowledge. Elementary students logged onto Code.org during their library classes where they learned how to block code using fun, age-appropriate platforms such as Kodable, Scratch and themed games based on Minecraft and popular Disney stories “Frozen” and “Moana.” By dragging and dropping commands, they solved puzzles and directed avatars to perform specific commands. They were even awarded with certificates recognizing them for their participation.
