On Wednesday, March 8, 2017, 260 Baylis students participated in the school’s Science and Technology Fair. Kindergarten through fifth-graders displayed approximately 130 projects in the gymnasium.
Many collaborated to design experiments and find answers to their hypotheses, creating models to demonstrate their unique inventions. From robotic garbage cans to making the best slime, students used inquiry and creativity in conducting scientific investigations. Teachers were impressed by how eloquently students displayed their projects. During a 60-minute evening program, students also explained the “science” behind their projects to fellow students and family members.
Have you ever seen “elephant” toothpaste or walking water? How about geodes made from eggs? Ever wonder which species breathes faster – goldfish or humans? Ever wonder how much iron is in your cereal? If you attended the Baylis Science and Technology Fair, you would have learned about all of these and much more! It was an exciting and educational experience for children of all ages!
