Syosset High School culminated a week of spirited activities with its annual homecoming celebration, as community members endured rainy and chilly weather to cheer on the varsity football team. The Braves dominated the game from start to finish, defeating visiting Hicksville 32-0. Syosset’s Christian Skorka rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns, including scores of 56 and 44 yards. David Moyett and Laith Nanous each added a touchdown for Syosset and Laith recovered a fumble on defense. The game kept the Braves alive for a playoff spot. Syosset High School cheerleaders provided support throughout the game. Syosset youth cheerleaders also performed at halftime, joining youth football players on the track. Just down the road at Robbins Lane Community Park, the varsity soccer Braves were also triumphant on homecoming day, winning their Conference AA-1 playoff game, 4-0 over Herricks. Leading up to homecoming, Spirit Week was held at Syosset High School, in which students dressed in different themes each day of the week.
